Brian's directorial Experience

I have had the privilege to direct some of the finest theatre productions. Each show is unique and special and it has been a pleasure to dive into each work and create a beautiful result.

To me, directing and coaching actors is about seeing the potential in each student, and helping them discover something new inside themselves. I believe in telling stories of redemption. Stories that show transformation and how all of us can grow.

Here is a short list of some of the productions I have had the honor to produce.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Les Miserables

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The Miracle Worker, the story of Helen Keller

Our vision

We will honor God first.
Every activity, lesson, and performance will reflect our belief in God and the saving grace of Jesus. Our goal is to create a safe place for children to help discover their place in the Kingdom of God through the study of theatre. Matt. 6:33
We will engage the whole person
Acting involves heart, mind, and body. Activities and exercises will explore our individuality and God-created uniqueness. We will use our emotions, our thoughts, our physicality, and our personalities to create believable and interesting characters on the stage. Gen. 1:27
We will provide opportunity for performance participation
While many theatre camps focus on one performance highlighting a few leads, we will intentionally provide each child the opportunity to play a vital role in our recitals and exhibitions. You can only learn about performing when you have the chance to perform! Col. 3:17
We will work hard and hold each other accountable.
Theatre students and parents must be responsible for their part in the success of the class. Whether it’s learning lines for a scene or studying characters, each child may need work at home to prepare to perform at their best. Parents, you will be a big help and encouragement in this process. Col. 3:23
We will foster an engaging and positive environment where everyone can grow.
Theatre is fun, and acting can be enjoyed by students with all types of personalities. Our sessions will begin and end with joy-filled Biblical messages and positive feedback as we intentionally focus on building others up. I Thess 5:11

“Brian Hill has led the drama for our kids at Double Oak Community Church for several years. We love the way he works with our kids, bringing out the best in each child as they explore their characters and sharpen their skills. Our kids love working with Brian and look forward to each rehearsal!”

Sandy Stephenson

“I took acting class from Brian many years ago, but still use the foundational skills of acting that I learned today. He provides a safe and comfortable atmosphere for students to be their true selves and explore the world of acting.”

Chelsea Fuller Brown

“Brian will pour every bit of knowledge, passion, and himself into mentoring his students. His understanding of character development can only be matched by his love and patience throughout the process. You will never regret choosing the Chelsea Acting Academy as long as he is there..”

Megan Kernoodle

“Brian was my theater director in college. His creative outlook on life pushed all of us to be more open, creative, and comfortable in our acting. He highlighted our talents and pushed us out of our comfort zones to brush up in areas that needed more practice. I am now writing music in Nashville and pursuing a music career partially because of him believing in me at 17. I would highly recommend putting your passion in his hands and letting him work alongside you to perfect your craft. You won’t regret it!”

Emily McGill

“If you are looking for a passionate and dedicated human being, Brian Hill is your person. Mr. Hill was my theatre director in college. I learned so much through his techniques and strategies to help empower his students through theatre. He leads by example through his Christian values. My best memories of undergrad was participating in Renaissance Theatre. He is deeply missed in West TN, but I know he will be a great director for your young ones in Alabama.”

Jeremy Carey

“Brian is an amazing theater director!!! As someone who started with almost zero theater experience, I can attest to his abilities. Brian taught me the fundamentals of acting, from improv to musical theater/stage performance. He is very patient, kind, professional, and will most definitely profoundly impact any student that he works with! He is great at what he does and is very passionate about the arts!! 5 stars!!”
